Davies and Partners Launch New Business Mediation Service
As court proceedings are becoming increasingly slow and expensive, Davies and Partners Solicitors has launched a new, specialist Civil and Commercial Mediation Service so that businesses and individuals finding themselves in dispute can take advantage of the speed and efficiency of mediation to reach a resolution.
Davies and Partners has two highly experienced, qualified commercial Mediators. Heading up the Mediation team is Legal Director, Nigel Tillott (pictured right).
Nigel has substantial experience of dispute resolution and is one of the region's most experienced Mediators. He has mediated against a whole range of disputes from contract and negligence based disputes to property based disputes and from employment disputes to partnership disputes. Nigel has also been used by mediation organisations to mentor inexperienced mediators and also regularly conducts mediation training.
Joining Nigel, is Legal Director, Simon Pressdee (left) who is Head of Davies and Partners Property Dispute Resolution Team and has been with the firm for 10 years. Simon is an ADR Group accredited mediator and can draw on over 25 years’ experience of a wide range of litigation and dispute resolution work, including personal injury, employment law, building disputes, contested wills and estates as well as property related disputes.
Commenting on the new service Nigel Tillott said, “Businesses are becoming increasingly aware of the advantages of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) and mediation. Traditional dispute resolution via court proceedings is becoming extremely costly, taking it out of reach of many individuals and small businesses. The Court process is also hampered by a lack of resources meaning litigation has become much slower and inefficient. The courts themselves are increasingly encouraging parties contemplating litigation to first consider and engage in ADR, in particular, mediation.”
“For a business, Mediation can be an extremely positive way of resolving issues and reducing negative publicity which can be quickly damaged via social media and consumer review sites. With our new specialist Civil and Commercial Mediation Service, we can offer clients throughout the UK, a highly specialist and experienced team to help them manage disputes, quickly and cost-effectively, while limiting their reputational risk, maintaining business confidentiality and helping them to move on.”
