Regulatory Law

At Davies and Partners our Regulatory Law Team in our Bristol, Birmingham, Gloucester and London offices, has significant experience in advising clients in relation to the impact that regulations have on themselves as individuals and on their businesses.

The Regulatory Law unit has a wealth of experience in dealing with compliance and regulatory matters. We ensure clients are aware and observe their regulatory obligations and deal with prosecutions or proceedings brought by regulatory authorities.

The Unit has experience of a wide range of matters including:

Data Protection
This is becoming an increasingly major issue with the GDPRs being introduced in May 2018. These will raise the minimum standards required by businesses. Come along to our Seminar, ask for an audit or we can provide specific advice.

Professional and Industry Standards Disciplinary and Tribunals
Our team can offer support and advice with regard to disciplinary and tribunal actions in particular the Care Standards, Transport Tribunals, GMC and midwifery counsel. We can offer help right the way through the process.

Investigations and Prosecutions
We have extensive experience in defending investigations and prosecutions brought by regulatory authorities such as the Office Fair Trading, Health and Safety Executive, Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS), Environment Agency, Financial Conduct Authority and Trading Standards.

We have particular experience of the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations which govern the basis upon which businesses deal with consumers on a very wide range of matters.

Our team is able to offer a wealth of advice relating to second charge lending, transfer fees in the Retirement housing sector and investigations and prosecutions relating to the misselling of property.
