Jude Rodrigues Partner, Planning
Jude joined Davies and Partners in November 2005 to become a member of the busy Planning department having trained in private practice on the South coast before moving to the Midlands to join local government. Jude became a partner in Davies and Partners in April 2007
Jude has worked for and managed several large legal teams within local government, including at a large metropolitan council and a unitary council. His expertise is in the areas of planning, environmental, compulsory purchase and highways law, including advocacy at inquiries and in the courts. Jude's experience included working on the first Metro line for Centro running between Birmingham to Wolverhampton via West Bromwich and the redevelopment of the world renowned Ascot racecourse. Jude also has a thorough working knowledge of many other areas of law gained through 13 years legal experience in local government.
Partner, HR Consultancy and Employment Jude's wide ranging local government expertise has left him with a thorough working knowledge in many areas of law affecting self employed traders and small to medium sized companies. Whilst a "gamekeeper", Jude's responsibilities covered Health and Safety at Work, Trading Standards, Employment Law (in particular tribunal matters to include unfair dismissals and discrimination claims) and more specialised work relating to prosecutions for illegal workers and benefit fraud.
Jude was delighted to take over the role of delivering the HR Consultancy Service as it offered a role which utilised his many years of employment law experience, combined with his litigation experience in prosecuting companies for breaches relating to Health and Safety and Trading Standards issues. Helping firms to recognise the dangers which might lead to legal action being brought by the enforcing authority or a claim by an employee against the company is an important part of the HR Consultancy Service. In these difficult economic times for traders and SMEs, the last thing one would want to face is legal costs to defend an avoidable prosecution.
The HR Consultancy Service will provide practical assistance and is a cost effective use of resources and time. Jude can provide the advice and work with the client to implement the necessary steps required.
