Chambers UK 2009: “At Davies and Partners, Gillian Solly maintains her excellent reputation as a “totally sound” clinical negligence lawyer.” Gillian has acted for claimants in Heil v Rankin (2003) where awards for pain suffering and loss of amenity were increased generally by a third, Wraith v Sheffield Forgemasters (1995) and R v CICA ex parte Vick a CICA claim. She specialises in complex and high value claims. Laparoscopic surgery cases have been an interest since successfully claiming compensation for the patient operated on during one the first laparoscopic cholysysectomy operations performed in the UK.
Her clinical negligence practise is diverse. She handles the highest value cases for birth and profound injuries whilst also acting in lower value cases where the impact on the family may be profound but of limited financial value.

"Gillian Solly also has more than two decades' worth of clinical negligence experience. Her busy caseload often features cerebral palsy and brain injury matters, and she also has expertise in injuries resulting from laparoscopic surgery and delays in the diagnosis and treatment of MS."
